kanna bang - Part 2

Postby scyeo » 25/03/09 11:54 pm

just one more turn and i will be home already ... and yet, i met two red-light beaters; one managed to go past me in front, but the other went straight into me !

just wondering if anyone here or know of anyone witnessing this civic? hit into me at the junction of Simei Street 1 and Simei Street 3, pls contact me at 92229935.

there was acutally a black civic driven by a malay guy that stopped to asked me if i was ok or not .... but i was too shaken to know what to do.

i am [ME].

the lights were already red for the opposite direction but both cars A and B were going to beat the light.

car A on the left lane managed to cross the junction right infront of me when i turned right at the junction and he was at least abt 3 to 4 cars length infront of car B.

but as car B was in the right lane and i had already turned, he jammed brake swerved right into my rear door.

from the pics you can see its a almost expiring car already - SBV plate and he only bought UOB 3rd party insurance. I wonder if he will admit honestly to what happend or not.

the lights at my place is such that the side of the car A & B will turn red first. the light in my lane will then become amber and then red with blinking green turning arrow. that was when i made my turn and the Car B just jammed brake all the way into me, at least abt 10m ( but surprisingly there were no skid marks on the road, just the yeeeeeee sound)

bro, u should had complain chest pain or leg pain or arm pain or head pain or hair pain, activate the ambulance. Once ambulance are called, TP will come and take statement.

And if didn't, then I would advise u faster go see any GP, and get a 3 days MC. Only with a min of 3 days MC, then u are aligible to go to any police station and make a report.

Third party means you can claim his insurance but he can't claim his own. It's either he do his own repair or he claim against yours. Is the old man in the pic the driver of the Civic?

yup the old man in the pic is the driver of the civic. Not co-operative when exchanging particulars ... only willing to produce his CI.

and i dun feel anything wrong with myself so i dun thk its nec to to go for any checkup or so ... maybe my heart pain only coz for nothing, kenah hit like this and now kenah take one day leave tmr to go IDAC and then workshop for repairs.

btw, anyone knows if Starsauto handles insurance claims ?

Hope you had took down particulars of any witness. If not, unless there is a traffic camera to prove that the old man beat the red, the process might take a while. :sweatdrop:

i was took shaken up to do anything after being hit ..... there was a guy ( i thk malay ) driving a black civic also (no backside type) who stopped and got out of his car to ask me if i was all right. It did not cross my mind to recruit witness right there as i was thinkg i am ok and its obvious that this guy beat the red lights to ram into my rear.

Same scenario as mine few years back. If you cannot prove that the light was red already, you might actually be considered at fault if no witness or camera at the junction.

Mine was no witness and no camera and end up 50/50 case. The other party is driving straight so they are supposed to have the right of way. the important thing is to get a witness that the light was red before they dash across.

exactly what the workshop told me.

so i asked him how much was the repiars and he quoted my $1k, then i told him to go ahead with the 3rd party claims and fight ... even if lose, i only lose $1k + NCD, but if 50/50, i only will lose my NCD partially.

i just cannot accept it, just hope to be able to find the black honda guy ... but its like looking for a needle in a haystack.

very hard case to fight. if he insist the light was green for his side and he was going straight. the liability of going straight < turning right. cars that are turning will alway be in disadvantage. hope you can really get that witness and all the best for the claiming part.

Starsauto can do claiming paperwork but only for some insurance company (correct me if i am wrong) either that is being referred by idac. you can ask for the particular workshop and see if your insurance company allows.

PS: be defensive when you are driving. do not demand the right of the way in singapore. some drivers in singapore are impulsive, rash and inconsiderate. so give and take.

this old man really terrible !! shud be over 60 yrs old and yet drive like that !! i can only hope his morality is better than his driving skills.

well nevermind lor .... cost me $1k and my ncd and 8 mths to try to prove my innocence.

this was after advise from my agent that these type of cases are tough, so instead of going back to SA, i opted for their recommended workshop instead.
